By using this website, you agree to the handling of your personal information as described here.
What personal information we collect
- Contact form details: your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it) and the content of your message.
- Business listing details: business name, address, website, phone number, email, opening hours, pet policies, photos and the name and contact details of the person submitting or managing the listing.
- Ratings: any ratings or comments you submit about a listed business, and any details you give us with them.
- Basic site analytics and cookies: information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, time spent on the site, the website that referred you, and your approximate location.
Why we collect it
We collect personal information only where it is reasonably necessary to run the directory and our services. This includes responding to your enquiries, reviewing and publishing business listings, managing paid plans and billing, displaying and moderating ratings, keeping the website secure, understanding how the site is used so we can improve it, and meeting our legal obligations. We will not use your information for a different purpose unless you consent, or the law allows or requires it.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure how the site is used and, where enabled, show advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Business owners can also ask us to update or remove their listing details at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why in writing.
Making a privacy complaint
If you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please email us with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and reply in writing, usually within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Terms of Use
By using Social Pet Society, listing a business or submitting a rating, you agree to these terms.
Business listings and accuracy
Businesses are responsible for making sure the information they give us is accurate, current and not misleading, including pet policies, opening hours and contact details. Please tell us promptly if anything changes. We review listings before they are published, but we do not guarantee the accuracy of listing information, and visitors should confirm details with the business before visiting. We may edit, suspend or remove a listing that is inaccurate, misleading or inappropriate.
Paid plans and cancellation
A standard listing is free, and you never need to subscribe to stay listed. Paid plans (Verified & Visible and Featured Partner) are optional, billed monthly at the prices shown on our Partner Plans page. You can ask to cancel a paid plan at any time by emailing us, and your listing will return to a standard free listing. We will not change what you are charged without your agreement. Paying for a plan does not automatically make a listing verified.
Ratings
Ratings should be honest and based on your own experience. We may remove any rating that is abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, spam, fake, or that includes personal information or is otherwise inappropriate. Businesses may ask us to review a rating they believe breaks these terms, but we do not remove ratings simply because they are negative or because a business is on a paid plan.
